Plot Overview
Chapter I: The Pole of Inaccessibility
Set 15 to 20 years before the events of Fury Road, Furiosa chronicles the early life of the titular character in a desolate wasteland. As raiders attack the Green Place of Many Mothers, young Furiosa and her friend Valkyrie are captured. Despite her attempts to sabotage the raiders’ plans, Furiosa is taken to the warlord Dementus (Hemsworth). Her mother, Mary, mounts a rescue, leading to a brutal confrontation where Mary sacrifices herself to save Furiosa.
Chapter II: Lessons from the Wasteland
Dementus, seeking control of the Citadel’s resources, besieges the settlement but is repelled by Immortan Joe’s War Boys. Changing strategy, Dementus captures Gastown and negotiates with Joe, trading Furiosa for increased supplies. Imprisoned among Joe’s “wives,” Furiosa plots her escape, taking advantage of Joe’s son Rictus’s attraction to her.
Chapter III: The Stowaway
Disguised as a mute boy, Furiosa rises through the ranks, becoming a key player in the Citadel’s military operations. She collaborates with Praetorian Jack (Burke) to fend off an assault by The Octoboss and his Mortiflyers. Recognizing her potential, Jack trains Furiosa, and she becomes his second-in-command.
Chapter IV: Homeward
Furiosa and Jack, planning to escape together, are ambushed by Dementus during a mission to the Bullet Farm. Severely injured, Furiosa escapes by severing her own arm and returns to the Citadel. Her strategic advice leads to the crushing of Dementus’s Horde in a 40-day war.
Chapter V: Beyond Vengeance
Determined to avenge her mother, Furiosa captures Dementus and uses him as fertilizer to grow a peach tree from her mother’s seed. Promoted to Imperator, Furiosa takes command of a new War Rig, setting the stage for the events of Fury Road.
