Three years after the Summerville escapades, Callie Spengler, her partner Gary Grooberson, and her kids Trevor and Phoebe move to New York City to help Winston Zeddemore and Ray Stantz reestablish the Ghostbusters. After capturing a ghost in Hell’s Kitchen, they face off against Walter Peck, the Ghostbusters’ long-time nemesis and current mayor. Peck’s threats lead Callie to remove Phoebe from the team. Upset, Phoebe befriends the ghost Melody, who reveals a sinister plot involving Garraka, a phantom god aiming to freeze New York.
As the story unfolds, Ray and Podcast acquire a mysterious orb from Nadeem Razmaadi, triggering a chain of supernatural events. The Ghostbusters, along with Nadeem who possesses latent pyrokinetic powers, must thwart Garraka’s plan. The climactic battle sees the team improvising to trap Garraka and restore peace to the city.

Originally slated for December 20, 2023, the release was pushed to March 22, 2024, due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. The film premiered in New York City on March 14, 2024.
